Typing Test Anxiety Tips

Timed tests spike adrenaline. A few habits keep hands steady.

Before the clock starts

Read the first line silently. Roll shoulders, unclench jaw, take one slow breath. A calm start prevents cascading errors in the first twenty seconds.

During mistakes

One error does not ruin a test. Pause half a second, refocus, continue. Chasing lost time usually creates more typos.

Calming pre-test nerves

Simulate exam conditions once weekly: timed test, no pauses, same chair and keyboard you expect on test day.

If your hands shake, type one easy paragraph untimed, then start the scored test — the warm-up resets rhythm without counting toward your score.
