Typing Accuracy Drills

Speed without accuracy wastes editing time. These drills sharpen precision.

Slow repetition

Type a medium passage at half your normal pace aiming for 98–100% accuracy. Repeat until three runs in a row hit your target. Only then increase tempo slightly.

Error log

Note which letters cause misses. Spend five minutes on words heavy in those letters. Many typists struggle with pinky reaches or ring-finger columns.

Drills that raise accuracy fast

Type the same short sentence ten times without a single error before increasing speed. Reset after any mistake — the goal is perfect repetition, not finishing quickly.

Read each word aloud in your head before your fingers move. Eyes-ahead reading prevents the common error of typing the previous word again.
